A Day Away
Mama and Daddy came and babysat Sam today, and BJ and I got to go to lunch and to the mall today! It was kinda wierd to be out without Sam - and moreso to leave Mama and Daddy after they had driven so far!!!!! We had fun, though - we stayed out for a whole six or seven hours! When we called to tell them we were on the way home, they kept telling us to stay out longer!!! I'm so glad they love Sam like they do!!!!! Sam's SO lucky to be surrounded by so much love!
Sam has been great. He tends to cry at twilight... I don't know what it is about that time of day that makes him do it, but, I'm just glad the time changed before he was born... so BJ's home before he starts all of that!!!! =)
My first week "alone" with Sam wasn't too bad... it's incredibly exhausting, and sometimes I didn't shower until 4 in the afternoon, but he's really good for the most part. Thursday was a little rough - when BJ got home, I gave him Sam, and I went to the store and got supper - and drove really slow! I needed to get out... he had been constant - crying or fidgeting, I don't know, but I spent the whole day doing something with him. No time to get anything else done!!!!!
Friday was much better. I got up, fed him, got ready for the day, fed him again, and went to visit the ladies at the bank. My first outing with just me and Sam! I figured the bank was a safe destination... I had reinforcements there (five to be exact!!!). And I got to get some bank business taken care of. I got really brave, and even went to Kroger before I got to the bank!!!! Not so difficult! I was only gone an hour or two, but it was nice to know I could do it!!!!!
BJ's brother came to see Sam for the first time (he's a Sophmore at Florida State) on Saturday. He was ear to ear grins - he was so cute with Sam!!! Melissa came that night and brought us dinner. Jimmy (her new boyfriend) came with her... he's really nice, and they seem to compliment each other well. She came in and finished fixing dinner - wouldn't let me help, fed Sam, fed us, and cleaned up - she had to be forceful with me not to help, but she would have nothing of it! She's really an awesome friend... that's why she's one of my bestest friends in the world - she knows what I need and does it!!!!!
Sam's a cutie, growing more and more everyday... He's holding his head up and looking around. He turns his head towards our voices - I can't believe all that he does at just one month old! He's growing up so fast!
He's learning to love his swing!!!!

This is his favorite place to sleep - on his Daddy's chest (well, Mommy's or anyone else's chest works too!!!)
