Black and White

Sam has become an active little bugger these days... well, not that he wasn't before, but he just changes and grows more and more everyday! Yesterday, we went swimming... well, I didn't, but he did - in the bath tub!!! He just love laying there and kicking the water - it doesn't even bother him when the water splashes in his face!!!!

And I bought some material to sew a blanket for him to play on. He rolls off of his play mat in no time (and we all remember how he folds himself up in it so well!!!), so I thought I would just "whip" him up a big blanket!!!! Yeah, right!!!!! It took a couple of days (in between baby - and my not-so-professional seamstressing), but I finished it. It looks aweful! The ends look absolutely terrible where I attempted to sew them; however, they ARE in fact sewn and not unraveling, so it serves its purpose!!!!!!! Sam likes it - as does Stormie... here they are on the make-shift blanket while I was sewing - they were sleeping...

Aren't they cute???? And they are not posed - that's how Sam fell asleep, and Stormie came and got that close to him to sleep too... ahhhh... she really does like him - sometimes!!!

We took up a role of black and white film with BJ's good camera... we got some really good pictures!!!!
I'm with Kimberly in feeling that I don't photograph well, however, I will take this one - I really like how it turned out!!!!!!It's hard to tell, but BJ and Sam are wearing matching outfits - cut-off camo shorts and a white Polo shirt - they were SO CUTE!!!!!

Sam's Weekend

Sam's weekend and Mimi and Pop Pop's was fun and very eventful. They took 160 pictures and three videos!!!!!! On the way home Friday night, they stopped at Wal-Mart and let Sam pick out a new toy!!!! And so the fun began...

Pop Pop fed Sam his cereal - and it sounds like they were both in a pretty big mess! Sam, Bumbo (the chair) and Pop Pop had to get into the shower...

The cereal may have been everywhere, but they had a good time getting it there!
Sam finally found his feet - he apparently got interested in them over the weekend!

Sam took a shower, then got in the tub to play. He loved splashing around in the shallow water. This is one of very few shots of him on his tummy. He rolled over to his back and kicked and kicked...

Here is Sam and Mimi on the mule. Sam loves to ride and look at stuff (so does Rocky =) This, too, was a great way to quiet him down in the rare moments that he cries!!!!!

Then Sam decided to take it for a spin on his own! Such a fast learner!!! (Told you he was a genious!!)

Here's Sam eating green beans... can you tell he's not a fan??? He actually ended up eating them two or three times... he would spit them out, Mama would catch them with the spoon and feed them to him again!!!!

It's playtime again...

This was Sam's 5 month photo shoot... Mama got a new camera, so she volunteered to do it for me! Thanks Mama - they turned out SO GOOD!!!!!

Well, that's it - Sam's weekend away! It was good to be on my schedule, but I sure did miss him - three nights was a long time!!!!!!!! Stormie enjoyed it the most, though!!!!!!

It's just for cautions...

Well, we are Samless! He is with Mimi and Pop Pop, and each time we talk to them they have a cute story, or we hear him in the background talking to them! They say their cheeks hurt from smiling so much! How wonderful that they love him and want to spend time with him like they do! It sounds like they're having a good time!

BJ and I haven't really seen each other today... I woke up at 8 and pumped, drank coffee caught up on my two missed weeks of blog stalking of friends - Beth, update yours, please!!!! =) BJ got up about 9:30, and I had to get into the shower to get ready for a breast cancer fashion show and fund raiser.

It was a blast, and Ms. Kathy did a WONDERFUL job with it. Everything went perfectly smoothly (yes, that is now a term), and it all looked so good! Kimberly did a wonderful job on a reading that she wrote (cancer survivors actually read it)! The food was great too! The ticket said to dress in pink, so, since pink is one of my favorites and I had a closet full, I went all out. I had on pink pants, pink shirt, pink jewelry, pink toenails and fingernails, pink flip flops, and a pink scarf. The only thing I didn't do was wear pink hair - well, that was the only thing I needed to put me over the edge! Well, I tried!!!! I felt like a little kid whose mom let her pick her own clothes out, and so I wore all pink because it was my favorite!? It was/is a great cause, and I am sure they raised way more money than the goal they set! I'm always excited to be a part of something bigger than myself! Thank you to Ms. Kathy for letting me be a part of it!!!

We got Sam's Cow-moo-flage carseat yesterday, and BJ and I tried it out this morning. As I sat, I asked the weight limit - which is 60 lbs. I told BJ, "That's just for cautions." Luckily I didn't break it, but I would have died if I had broken this $280 carseat!!!!!!! What was I thinking????

Stormie is loving being an only child again. She's a little grumpy lately - lack of attention, I am afraid. She has her good days and her not-so-happy-can-you-take-him-back days!!!!!!!!

Off for an evening of friends... I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures to post from his stay at the lake!!!!!!

I'm Baaaaaaack!!!

Yes, it is so!!!! We now have our very own internet! I hate to admit it, but I really missed being able to get online - to just look at something someone tells you about, to blog, to check my email, etc! I really use it a lot more than I realized!!!!! It feels great to have it back!!!!!

This was a couple of Saturdays ago... Sam was having his morning coffee out on the deck - enjoying the morning air!!!

Uncle Brandon came to visit one more time before he left for his JUNIOR YEAR at Florida State! I can't believe he only has two years left!!!!

Sam is absolutely loving trying all these new foods! He is really getting into it in case you can't tell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Mimi and Pop Pop's to visit with them and Nanny last week... Sam tried the Johnny Jump Up again, and fit much better this time!
Of course, Rocky was there to help - and protect his toys (from Stormie and Sam both!)Mimi got to feed him his applesauce... Nanny watched - she had just fed him his bottle!Sam decided to take matters into his own hands and feed himself...This was right before he pretty much stuck the spoon down his throat and gagged...This is the look of "What just happened here???" And, we're back at it again!!!!

This was Sam's 5 month birthday... and Nanny hadn't seen him in a few weeks. Well, she stopped at Toys R Us on her way to the airport for Mama and Daddy to pick her up!!!! Sam is SO set on the toys for awhile!!!! Nanny is so awesome, isn't she??? Daddy said the bag was so heavy that he was afraid the tail would never make it off the ground!!!!! Uncle Bo got a new truck...

So, Sam had to take her for a spin!!!!

This is fuzzy, because I was trying to take it, and Bo peeled off (literally) - his truck has a diesel engine... apparently turbo charged!!!!!!!

And he's back to sleep again!!!!! All in a day's work!!!

Sam got a new high chair last weekend - it's kinda big, but he'll grow into it before we know it!!! =(

So I didn't take a picture of him doing a backbend out of his swing the other morning - not gonna lie, he scared me a little with that one!!!! But this morning, as I was fixing his bottle, I heard him, then he was quiet, looked, he was doing fine, heard the music thing go off, looked up, and this is what I saw...

I couldn't help it, I had to take a picture!!!! It was so funny!!!! He was kicking - and talking away - he wasn't even crying!!! I guess what I'm learning is that I'm not fully awake and alert in the mornings and should be especially careful with him at that time of day!!!!! =)

Sam is off to Mimi and Pop Pop's for the weekend tomorrow... he's not coming back until MONDAY!!!???? I'm sure gonna miss him, but Stormie and I are looking forward to sleeping in - as is BJ!!!!
